The Friends of the New York State Library inform the public, the Governor, the Legislature, the Board of Regents, and others regarding resources necessary to ensure that the State Library can continue to serve the government and people of the state. Communication methods include visits to legislative and executive offices, testimony to the Regents and other decision making bodies, letters to the press and other media, and cooperative ventures with other library advocates.
