New York State Library Program: Walking Tour of the Local History and Genealogy Resources at the State Library

This upcoming Saturday (May 7), Shawn Purcell, subject specialist for genealogy and local history at the New York State Library, will lead a one-hour tour highlighting published genealogies, local histories, church records, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) records, United States and New York State Census records, newspapers on microfilm, city directories and more.

Come see how you can trace your family history with the treasure trove of information available at the New York State Library. The tour runs from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and will meet on the 7th floor of the Cultural Education Center in front of the Local History/Genealogoy Desk.

You must register for this program either online or by calling 518-474-2274. Historically this is a very popular program, so register soon as spots fill quickly!
